Job summary

GE HealthCare in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to work with senior engineers on power electronics, embedded systems and X-ray components used in OEC C-arms. You will contribute to design, analysis, testing and documentation across the product development life cycle.

You will assist with power distribution, PCB design, interconnects, simulations and verification, and you’ll present design analysis reports.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent major
• Sophomore year minimum
• GPA: 3.0 (based on a 4.0 scale)
• Willing to relocate to Salt Lake City, UT
• Ability to work a minimum of 10 weeks full time over the summer.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and analysis of power distribution design, embedded system design, motion control, wired/wireless networking, and other sub-components used in surgical imaging solutions.
• Perform power distribution analysis, including determination of power, power budgets and test verification.
• Electrical Simulation and Design of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) and electrical components
• Interconnect & Cable designs.
• Verification and Validation of electrical design, including supporting engineering builds and testing.
• Reliability analysis of components and systems.
• Failure analysis of electrical & electrical-mechanical components.
• Preparation/presentation of design analysis reports and part/assembly drawing reviews.
• Support Manufacturing and Lean initiatives.
