Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker invites a rising junior or senior to join our Electrical Engineering Intern program in Towson, MD. You will assist with design and testing for new product development, prototype concepts, and BOM/cost analyses.

Expect collaboration with a cross-functional team and exposure to power tools, battery studies, and embedded firmware. Compensation ranges from $22.00 to $27.00 per hour, with a max 40-hour work week and opportunities for career advancement after graduation.

Qualifications

• Rising junior or senior pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, circuit analysis, and power electronics.
• Familiarity with embedded systems and firmware development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical engineering design and testing tasks for new product development and cost-reduction projects.
• Prototype electronic and/or mechatronic product concepts related to power tools and related fields, battery and cell studies, wireless connectivity.
• Prepare possible solutions with decision matrix to assist in choosing technical direction.
• Design and construct prototypes, creating bill of materials and preliminary cost analysis.
• Present results to supervisor and Innovation/Technology leadership.
• Work on a wide variety of tasks with a cross-functional team of professionals.
