Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs in New Carlisle, IN is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our internship program. The position offers exposure to a steel-industry environment, with projects aligned to innovation and sustainability and guidance from engineering and operations leaders. Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, design, analysis, and cost-control activities.

Applicants must be enrolled in a BS program in Electrical Engineering or related field and have U.S. work authorization.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in BS program in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or other related technical degree.
• Sophomore year completed by summer 2027.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Recommend and/or perform predictive, preventative, and emergency maintenance of equipment.
• Research, design, evaluate, install, modernize, redesign, operate, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment.
• Resolve equipment malfunctions, including those requiring scheduled shutdowns or breakdown action.
• Participate in planning, scheduling, and cost control of maintenance/engineering projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
• Analyze current operating performance and standard operating procedures and make recommendations for improvement.
• Support the business on various other projects as needed.
