Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs in New Carlisle, IN is offering a hands-on Electrical Engineering Internship for students pursuing a BS in EE or related tech. You'll work alongside engineering and maintenance teams, gaining real-world experience on equipment maintenance, design, and optimization.

This internship provides mentoring, a path to future full-time opportunities, and exposure to predictive and preventive maintenance, blueprints, and cost planning.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in Bachelor of Science program in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related technical degree.
• Completion of at least sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027.
• Applicants must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Recommend and/or perform predictive, preventative, and emergency maintenance of equipment
• Research, design, evaluate, install, modernize, redesign, operate, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment
• Resolve equipment malfunctions, including those requiring scheduled shutdowns or breakdown action
• Participate in planning, scheduling, and cost control of maintenance/engineering projects
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
• Analyze current operating performance and standard operating procedures and make recommendations for improvement
• Various other projects as needed to support the business

Education

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology or related technical degree
