Job summary

CDM Smith office in Los Angeles invites an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our Summer 2027 team. You will work with senior engineers on a diverse range of public, federal, and industrial projects, developing electrical drawings and performing system analyses.

You'll gain hands-on experience in power distribution, lighting, and protection design while contributing to master planning studies and project documentation in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelors or Master's in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Electrical Technology or related discipline with an interest in power systems and/or electrical distribution.

Responsibilities

• Developing drawings for electrical systems (power, controls, communications, fire alarm, and security) using CADD.
• Performing electrical calculations using systems analyses software (lighting, load, voltage drop, etc.).
• Assisting in the development of electrical distribution design plans and single line diagrams.
• Reviewing shop drawings and assist with general construction services.
