Job summary

WSP USA is offering a Full-Time Electrical Engineering (Distribution) Internship in Overland Park, KS for enrolled undergraduate and graduate students. This 12-week summer program starts May 17, 2027, with a flexible start date.

You will work alongside senior staff on distribution projects to gain hands-on experience within our Power and Energy Team. During the internship, you will support distribution design tasks, collect data, and learn fundamental Electrical Engineering concepts under

Qualifications

Actively enrolled in an accredited Engineering program with graduation August 2027 or later.
Must be 18 or older.
Interest in Consulting Engineering or Electric Utility industry.
Strong communication and ability to express ideas professionally.
Able to take direction from mentors and managers.
Basic proficiency with technical writing and common software/tools.
Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering.
Work under experienced engineers on distribution design.
Assist with data collection and engineering consulting services.
Support distribution planning, coordination, and arc-flash studies for Medium Voltage systems.
Complete training on assigned tasks.
Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies.
