Job summary

Matrix Design Group in Newburgh, IN is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for a 2027 Summer internship. You will work with engineers on design, prototyping, and testing of safety-related electronics and maintain existing products. This paid internship is not remote and reports to the Hardware Manager.

You will gain exposure to product development, design reviews, documentation, and hands-on lab experience while you shadow engineers to sharpen skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Participate in product design meetings to gather requirements.
• Assist in developing product specifications and regulatory research.
• Assist in building and testing design prototypes for concept proof.
• Participate in design reviews and document results.
• Create and maintain drawings, test procedures, and reports.
• Log time and manage multiple concurrent projects.
• Shadow experienced engineers to develop new skills.
