Job summary

Forge Atomics is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern/Co-op to contribute to the Ember reactor’s electrical systems, from sensing to power hardware. You’ll work directly with engineers on end-to-end design, bring-up, and testing, with mentorship and a focus on reliable, cost-effective deployment.

Applicants should be enrolled in a bachelor’s program with 3+ months of applied engineering experience and knowledge of electronics.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in engineering, physics or math by start of employment.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internships and project team experience preferred).
• Must comply with U.S. export control regulations governing access to nuclear technology (10 CFR Part 810). U.S. citizenship not required; Forge can host citizens of generally authorized countries.

Responsibilities

• Own a well-scoped piece of reactor electronics or electrical hardware end-to-end — design, layout, bring-up, and test — with mentorship.
• Apply first-order hand calculations and empirical formulas to assess and iterate on designs.
• Collaborate daily with technicians, engineers, and managers to balance cost, efficiency, and deployment logistics.
