Job summary

IMEG is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for a 10-12 week summer program in New York, NY. You will assist in analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems across building types while collaborating with experienced engineers.

The role emphasizes education projects, public-school modernization, and high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with industry standards. During the internship, you’ll support project documentation, cross-disciplinary coordination,

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years toward BS in Electrical Engineering
• Proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exposure to CAD/BIM software preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical system design per code and IMEG standards
• Research commercially available equipment for project needs
• Support client relations and document records for permanent files
• Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines, clerical staff, equipment suppliers, and project partners
• Document design decisions and client instructions while monitoring progress
• Review project documents for accuracy before final check
• Prepare and issue addendum information
• Conduct periodic job site observations and support other services required by the contract services agreement
