Job summary

IMEG Corp is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in New York, NY. The 10-12 week program will involve assisting in design, analysis, and oversight of electrical systems for education projects, with mentorship and real project work.

You'll participate in project documentation, cross-disciplinary coordination, and site observations, gaining exposure to BIM/CAD tools and MS Office, and supporting teams to meet budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years toward a BS in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong interest in design consulting.
• Exposure to CAD and/or BIM software.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written form.
• Preferred prior internship experience in building design consulting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical system design work according to code and IMEG standards.
• Research commercially available equipment for project needs.
• Support client relations, maintain the project design notebook, and document records for permanent files.
• Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines, clerical staff, equipment suppliers, and project partners.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and support other services required by the contract services agreement.
