Job summary

IMEG Corporation in Long Island, NY is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for a 10-12 week summer program. You will assist with electrical system design, analysis, and oversight on building projects, collaborating with a cross‑functional team, and contributing to documentation and client communications.

The paid internship includes a mentor, structured program, and real project work across government, municipal, and science/tech markets, with potential for full‑time conversion and ESOP

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Hands-on design experience preferred but not required.
• Exposure to building design projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical system design for building projects in accordance with code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings.
• Assist with researching commercially available equipment.
• Assist with maintaining client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files.
• Assist with coordinating design and schedule with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment supplier teams.
• Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
• Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check.
• Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement.
• Work within the project's monetary budget and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.

Skills

MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Clear verbal and written communication

Education

Completed at least 2 years towards a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
