Job summary

The Lansing Board of Water & Light (BWL) invites you to join its Project Engineering Department in Lansing, MI as an engineering Intern for summer 2027. You will work on independent or partial projects under a mentor, gaining hands-on experience in design, analysis, and problem solving across electric generation, water, steam, and other facilities.

The internship emphasizes electrical discipline but may involve other engineering fields.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited electrical engineering program with junior or senior status during summer 2027.
• Must be enrolled in fall classes 2027.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.

Responsibilities

• Design a small project or portion of a larger project under mentor.
• Aid in active electrical, mechanical, or civil/structural projects and activities.
• Assist with the Design, Construction, Commissioning, Material Procurement, Construction Specifications, and related tasks.
• Investigate and specify materials needed on projects throughout the BWL.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
