Job summary

IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern in Madison, WI. Over 10-12 weeks, you’ll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems for the vertical building industry while working closely with a team of experienced engineers and consultants on real project work.

This internship supports work within project budgets and cross-functional collaboration to help meet project goals and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Education: 2+ years toward BS in Electrical Engineering (required).
• Experience: None required.
• Strong interest in design consulting.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Skilled in AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM).
• Clear oral and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems per code and IMEG standards.
• Research commercially available equipment.
• Support client relations and maintain project design notebook for permanent records.
• Coordinate design and schedule with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology teams and suppliers.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions; monitor design progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy before final check.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and support contract services.
