Job summary

Zipline is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to support the Ground Systems Deployment team in South San Francisco. You’ll assist with electrical distribution design, site-level wiring approaches, and NEC-aligned documentation while gaining hands-on experience with commercial and light-industrial systems in a fast-growing autonomous drone network.

You’ll work with experienced engineers, contribute to project documentation, and help with the review and improvement of engineering processes.

Qualifications

• Completed the second year of undergraduate studies with relevant coursework (circuits, power systems, construction).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with CAD/ECAD, electrical modeling, or basic simulation software (Revit, AutoCAD, NX).
• Clear written and verbal communication, especially for technical summaries.
• Willingness to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers with research, drafting, and documentation for electrical distribution and structure-level wiring designs aligned with NEC and standards.
• Assist with UL/TUV certification efforts by gathering documentation and coordinating with engineering partners.
• Help prepare materials, track communications, and support deployment and construction teams.
• Implement feedback to optimize designs for efficiency and scale.
• Design electrical distribution for ground system projects per NEC and standards.
• Document project risks and prepare materials for meetings.
