Job summary

VideoRay interns? At AeroVironment, an Electrical Engineering Intern will contribute to the design, development, and testing of electrical systems for unmanned aircraft and robotics.

You’ll build and support test equipment, write software, and troubleshoot across the product lifecycle, gaining real-world experience in a fast-paced, high-tech environment. You’ll work onsite in Petaluma, CA, mentored by experienced engineers and engineers will guide you through hands-on projects aligned with UAS

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience with power electronics, battery systems, or electric motors is a plus.
• Familiarity with embedded, FPGA, RF systems and digital/analog design.
• Knowledge of I2C, SPI, UART, USB, CAN or LVDS.
• Proficiency in C, C++, or C#.
• Experience with test equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot test equipment for PCBAs and systems.
• Develop and deploy test software for hardware integration and validation.
• Maintain and upgrade test systems used in production.
• Contribute to test plans, requirements, and validation strategies.
• Assist in testing power systems, avionics, and propulsion components.
• Adopt engineering best practices and documentation standards.
• Support hardware bring-up, calibration, and system verification.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineers.
• Perform related duties to support engineering efforts.
