Job summary

1898 & Co. is a global business, technology and security consultancy serving critical infrastructure industries. The Engineering Intern will apply standard engineering techniques, assist lead engineers, and help update designs across market segments.

Interns gain exposure to data analysis, presentations, and project support while meeting GPA and authorization requirements and participating in campus or community activities. This role is based in the US with full‑time scheduling.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary education/technical program.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship/related consulting experience preferred.
• Active involvement in campus/community activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Legal authorization to work permanently in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Our Engineering Interns are responsible for performing tasks requiring the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures. This includes standard design of engineering systems, correcting and updating designs, assisting lead engineers with various project duties, and other duties as assigned. • Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education and/or technical certificate program in a field related to the work done in the department.
• Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.

Compensation

$20.50-39.00 Hourly

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The final agreed upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location.
