Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Wallingford, CT to support standard engineering tasks, assist lead engineers, and participate in project work across market segments. Tasks include data entry, documentation, PowerPoint presentations, and research solutions to project concerns.

Candidates should be pursuing an Electrical Engineering degree (ABET preferred), with a 3.0 GPA or higher, and active campus involvement. US work authorization is required for full-time schedule.

Qualifications

  • Pursuit of bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
  • ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
  • Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education and/or technical certificate program in a field related to the work done in the department.
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
  • Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country where this position is located.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.

Our Engineering Interns are responsible for performing tasks requiring the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures. This includes standard design of engineering systems, correcting and updating designs, assisting lead engineers with various project duties, and other duties as assigned. Compensation

$20.50-39.00 Hourly

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The final agreed upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location.
