Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) in Houston, TX is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern in Engineering Services. You will provide technical support to staff and customers, develop knowledge in SEL processes and technologies, and perform testing on new and existing technology.

You will document and communicate test results and learn how to protect and control critical electrical infrastructure. You are pursuing a BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, with

  • Pursuing a BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with 1–2 years of engineering education completed.
  • Ability to work part-time during school year and full-time in summer.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows applications.
  • Practical knowledge of power systems.
  • Practical circuit knowledge.

Job description

As an Electrical Engineering Intern in Engineering Services, you’ll provide solutions and services that help our customers protect and control critical electrical infrastructure and power systems worldwide.

As an Electrical Engineering Intern, a typical day might include the following:
  • Providing technical support to SEL staff & customers
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge in SEL processes and technologies.
  • Performing testing on new and existing technology.
  • Documenting and communicating test results.
This job might be for you if:
  • You are currently a student pursuing a BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, with one to two years engineering education completed.
  • You have the ability to work part time during the school year and full time during the summer.
  • You are proficient with Microsoft Windows Applications.
  • You have practical knowledge of power systems.
  • You have practical circuit knowledge.

Pay Range Data - $24.25 - $33.00 per hour

Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate). Talk to your recruiter if you are curious about the rate for your year in school.
