Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking an Electrical Engineering Specialist Intern in Engineering Services to help protect and control critical electrical infrastructure.

You will provide technical support, develop knowledge of SEL processes, perform tests on new technologies, and document results as part of a collaborative team. This internship offers hands-on learning and potential full-time opportunities after graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an EET degree or related discipline.
• Experience in programming and scripting.
• Practical knowledge of 3-phase power systems.
• Familiar with emulators and logic analyzers.
• Proficient with MS Windows and serial port terminal emulation software.
• Practical knowledge of SEL protective relays and automation controllers.
• Ability to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team.

As an Electrical Engineering Specialist Intern in Engineering Services, you’ll provide solutions and services that help our customers protect and control critical electrical infrastructure and power systems worldwide.

Typical Day

• Providing technical support to SEL staff & customers.
• Developing and maintaining knowledge in SEL processes and technologies.
• Performing tests on new and existing technology.
• Documenting and communicating test results.

• Are working toward an EET degree or relevant discipline.
