Job summary

L3Harris is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern in Rochester, NY to learn how to design and develop electrical systems for aircraft and ground stations across multiple platforms.

Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, with CAD experience (NX/Teamcenter) and solid Microsoft Office skills; prior co-op or internship is a plus.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree program (Bachelors, Masters or PhD) in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with CAD tools such as NX and Teamcenter is preferred.
• Strong MS Office skills and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Learn to design and develop electrical systems for aircraft and ground stations.
• Create wiring diagrams, panels, and other components using CAD software.
• Coordinate with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to meet requirements at minimum cost.

Job Description

In this role, you will learn to design and develop electrical systems for the integration of electrical/electronic equipment on military/commercial aircraft and ground stations. Electrical Engineers have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems on numerous aircraft platforms.

Essential Functions

• Create system wiring diagrams, circuit breaker panels, control panels and other items using CAD (Computer Aided Design) tool

• Research and preparation of engineering drawings, and coordination of design activities with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure that designs meet requirements at minimum cost

• Designs can include development of Avionics Systems, RF, LAN, Data Processing, Power Distribution Systems, Electrical Loads analysis, Load shedding scheme to name a few, along with the opportunity to support testing and integration of systems on the aircraft

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree or a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science degree or related technical degree at an accredited university.

• Preferred Additional Skills:

• Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office

• Co-Op/Intern or previous entry-level experience in electrical engineering

• Skills/Knowledge of with CAD and PLM software, including NX and Teamcenter

• PAY TRANSPARENCY: In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $22 per hour - $40.50 per hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
