Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Rochester, NY, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern who will learn to design and develop electrical systems for aircraft and ground stations.

You will work with CAD tools, support wiring diagrams, and assist in avionics, RF, LAN, data processing, and power distribution projects on multiple platforms; a strong foundation in electrical engineering and hands-on curiosity are essential.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Strong CAD/PLM experience preferred.
• Co-Op/Intern or entry-level experience in electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Create system wiring diagrams, circuit breaker panels, control panels and other items using CAD.
• Research and prepare engineering drawings with cross-functional coordination to meet cost and requirement targets.
• Support development of avionics systems, RF, LAN, data processing, and power distribution and assist in testing on aircraft.

Job Description:

In this role, you will learn to design and develop electrical systems for the integration of electrical/electronic equipment on military/commercialaircraftand ground stations. Electrical Engineershave the opportunity towork on a wide variety of tasks andaircraftsystems onnumerousaircraftplatforms.

Essential Functions:

• Create system wiring diagrams, circuit breaker panels, controlpanelsand other items using CAD (Computer Aided Design)tool

• Research and preparation of engineering drawings, and coordination of design activities with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure that designs meet requirements at minimum cost

• Designs can include development of Avionics Systems, RF, LAN, Data Processing, Power Distribution Systems, Electrical Loads analysis, Load shedding scheme to name a few, along with the opportunity to support testing and integration of systems on theaircraft

Qualifications:

• Must be pursuingaBachelor’sdegree, aMaster’sdegree or a PhDin Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science degree or related technical degree at an accredited university.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office

• Co-Op/Intern orpreviousentry-level experience in electrical engineering

• Skills/Knowledge of with CAD and PLM software, including NX and Teamcenter

PAY TRANSPARENCY:

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $22 per hour - $40.50 per hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
