Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for Rochester, NY. You’ll learn to design and develop electrical systems for military and commercial aircraft, working on Avionics, RF, LAN, data processing, and power distribution projects.

Essential tasks include creating wiring diagrams, coordinating with multiple engineering teams, and supporting testing and integration of systems on aircraft. Internal candidates and students pursuing degrees are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related degree at an accredited university.

Job Schedule: 9/80:Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off
Job Description: In this role, you will learn to design and develop electrical systems for the integration of electrical/electronic equipment on military/commercial aircraft and ground stations. Electrical Engineers have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems on numerous aircraft platforms.
Essential Functions:

• Create system wiring diagrams, circuit breaker panels, control panels and other items using CAD (Computer Aided Design) tool
• Research and preparation of engineering drawings, and coordination of design activities with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure that designs meet requirements at minimum cost
• Designs can include development of Avionics Systems, RF, LAN, Data Processing, Power Distribution Systems, Electrical Loads analysis, Load shedding scheme to name a few, along with the opportunity to support testing and integration of systems on the aircraft
  

Qualifications:

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree or a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science degree or related technical degree at an accredited university.
  

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Co-Op/Intern or previous entry-level experience in electrical engineering
• Skills/Knowledge of with CAD and PLM software, including NX and Teamcenter
  

PAY TRANSPARENCY:In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $22 per hour - $40.50 per hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
