Job summary

Radio Flyer in Chicago is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to contribute to product development, prototype electrical drive trains, electronics modules, and electro-mechanical assemblies.

You will work with Product Development and Product Quality teams, build concept prototypes and BOMs, and help test and iterate designs. The role requires junior or senior in EE/ME with electromechanics focus and CAD experience.

Qualifications

  • Majoring in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with Electromechanics focus.
  • GPA 3.0 or higher.
  • Experience with analog circuit design and testing, electromechanical sensors and actuators, motors and motor controls.
  • Experience with integrated software development and proficiency with Arduino, Phython and C++.
  • Experience coding with the support of AI tools to build dashboards and web applications.

Responsibilities

  • Build prototypes for electrical drive trains, electronic modules, and other electromechanical assemblies to prove function and performance.
  • Participate in product testing and brainstorming of prototypes to aid the design process.
  • Support the Product Development Engineers and Designers by providing proof of concept prototypes, BOM’s for electrical assemblies, and process maps.
  • Build custom webapp’s and dashboard tools by coding with the use of AI tools.
  • Communicate with other engineers both in the U.S. and overseas through emails and conference calls.

As the Electrical Engineering Intern, working with theProduct Development and Product Quality teams, your specific responsibilities will include:



  • Build prototypes for electrical drive trains, electronic modules, and other electromechanical assemblies to prove function and performance.

  • Participate in product testing and brainstorming of prototypes to aid the design process.

Qualifications:


The ideal candidate will be a junior or senior, majoring in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Electromechanics.



  • 3.0 GPA or higher.

  • Experience with analog circuit design and testing, electromechanical sensors and actuators, motors and motor controls.

  • Experience with integrated software development and proficiency with Arduino, Phython and C++.

  • Experience coding with the support of AI tools to build dashboards and web applications.

  • Experience with SolidWorks CAD modeling.

The pay range per hour is $21.00 – $26.00. Pay is based on responsibilities, skills/experience level, education, along with the Chicagoland area market, the consumer product industry, and company size. This internship may offer a relocation stipend for those who live outside of the Chicagoland area. Radio Flyer’s paid time off policies comply with the City of Chicago Paid Leave and Paid Sick and Safe Leave Ordinance.
