Job summary

Radio Flyer, an iconic toy company based in Chicago, invites a Electrical Engineering Intern to join the Product Development and Product Quality teams. You will build prototypes for electrical drive trains, electronic modules, and other electromechanical assemblies to prove function and performance, and participate in product testing to aid the design process.

Qualifications

• GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Junior or senior in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with focus on Electromechanics.
• Experience with analog circuit design and testing, sensors/actuators, motors and motor controls.
• Experience with software development and proficiency with Arduino, C++, Python.
• Experience using AI tools to build dashboards and web apps.
• SolidWorks CAD modeling experience.

Responsibilities

• Build prototypes for electrical drive trains, electronic modules and other electromechanical assemblies to prove function and performance.
• Participate in product testing and brainstorming of prototypes to aid the design process.
• Support engineers by providing proofs of concept, BOMs for electrical assemblies, and process maps.
• Build custom web apps and dashboard tools by coding with AI tools.
• Communicate with engineers in the U.S. and overseas via email and calls.

As the Electrical Engineering Intern, working with the Product Development and Product Quality teams, your specific responsibilities will include:

• Build prototypes for electrical drive trains, electronic modules, and other electromechanical assemblies to prove function and performance.
• Participate in product testing and brainstorming of prototypes to aid the design process.
• Support the Product Development Engineers and Designers by providing proof of concept prototypes, BOM’s for electrical assemblies, and process maps.
• Build custom webapp’s and dashboard tools by coding with the use of AI tools.
• Communicate with other engineers both in the U.S. and overseas through emails and conference calls.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be a junior or senior, majoring in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Electromechanics.

• 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Experience with analog circuit design and testing, electromechanical sensors and actuators, motors and motor controls.
• Experience with integrated software development and proficiency with Arduino, Phython and C++.
• Experience coding with the support of AI tools to build dashboards and web applications.
• Experience with SolidWorks CAD modeling.

The pay range per hour is $21.00 – $26.00. Pay is based on responsibilities, skills/experience level, education, along with the Chicagoland area market, the consumer product industry, and company size. This internship may offer a relocation stipend for those who live outside of the Chicagoland area.
