Job summary

Jobtailor in Chicago, IL is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 3+ years of design experience. The role focuses on delivering compliant electrical designs for oil & gas, midstream, utilities, and industrial facilities, while managing schedules and budgets.

A PE license is preferred and experience with Deltek is valued. Ideal candidate will work with discipline teams, develop P&ID diagrams, and ensure adherence to NEC, NFPA, API standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
• 3 years of electrical engineering design experience.
• Oil & gas, midstream, utilities, or industrial facilities experience required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Moderate experience with Deltek Project Planning.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, AGA, API and other applicable codes and standards.
• Knowledge of Primavera P6 schedule analysis.
• Familiar with discipline specific design software and design management systems.
• Previous experience managing a large number of small deadlines.
• SKM and/or ETAP proficiency.
• I&C design experience.
• Instrumentation selection experience (PIT, TIT, FIT, LIT, Etc.)
• P&ID development capability.

• Design to client and regulatory requirements
• Manage small to mid-size projects to schedule and budget
• Keep Milhouse Engineering management advised of all quality, schedule, and budget variances in a timely manner
• Manage subordinate or other discipline resources to quality, schedule, and budget requirements
• Prepare project documents and reports
• Maintain project files
• Create and enforcing project quality plan
• Data and document entry into various platforms
• Report safety, health, and quality issues to management
• Prepare contract amendments, change order documentation, and claims documentation
