We are seeking an experienced Due Diligence Expert to join a comprehensive due diligence team for a private equity engagement. This is a contract, remote position focused on assessing Operational Scalability and Technical Product Assessment for an enterprise with three sites located within a 15-minute driving distance near a major US Midwest airport. The role requires subject matter expertise, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and the ability to contribute insights to a Value Creation plan. Compensation is hourly or day rate, depending on experience (DOE).

Responsibilities

• Conduct due diligence with a focus on Operational Scalability and Technical Product Assessment across three enterprise sites
• Assess operational processes, IT infrastructure, intellectual property (IP), regulatory compliance, legal considerations, administrative functions, and tax-related matters as they relate to scalability and product viability
• Collaborate with a full due diligence team, including members from the Investment Team, Operating Team, and Functional Team (HR, IT, Legal, Finance)
• Provide subject matter expertise, synthesizing findings into a concise written deliverable (a few pages) to be integrated into the overall Value Creation plan
• Participate in discussions to test and refine insights with team members
• Report to the designated point person responsible for building the Value Creation case
  
  

Scope

• Assess a total of three sites, all located within a 15-minute driving distance near a major US Midwest airport
• Focus on enterprise-level operational and technical product evaluations to ensure scalability and market fit
  
  

Team

• Work as part of a multidisciplinary due diligence team, including:
• Investment Team: Focused on financial and strategic analysis
• Operating Team: Focused on operational efficiency and scalability
• Functional Team: Specialists in HR, IT, Legal, and Finance
• No direct involvement with a Cerberus team is required
• Report to the point person responsible for the Value Creation case
  
  

Deliverables

• Provide expert insights on Operational Scalability and Technical Product Assessment
• Produce a concise written summary (a few pages) capturing key findings and recommendations to be shared, tested, and integrated into the Value Creation plan
• Success is defined by delivering an experienced point of view that enhances the team’s understanding of operational and technical viability, contributing to a robust Value Creation strategy
  
  

Output

• Serve primarily as a Subject Matter Expert, providing deep expertise in operational and technical assessments
• Contribute written insights (a few pages) to be incorporated into the broader due diligence and Value Creation plan
• No formal outbrief presentation is required, but findings must be clearly articulated for team integration
  
  

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in due diligence with a focus on Operational Scalability and Technical Product Assessment
• Strong understanding of operational processes, IT systems, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, legal frameworks, administrative functions, and tax considerations
• Experience working with private equity or consulting firms on enterprise-level assessments
• Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Prior experience contributing to Value Creation plans or similar strategic initiatives is preferred
• Comfortable working remotely and managing deliverables independently
