MSA - The Safety Company seeks an electrical engineering co-op student to contribute to New Product Development projects, design circuit schematics, and develop PCB layouts for test boards and prototypes.

You will independently develop solutions, validate boards, and document testing processes, while collaborating with a team on design challenges and EMC considerations. This role supports a co-op rotation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifikationen

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of digital/analog circuit design and communication protocols such as SPI, UART, I2C.
• Strong interpersonal skills in design collaboration with the electrical engineering team.
• Creative Problem Solving Skills.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Tools.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Aufgaben

• Contributes to electrical team for one or more New Product Development (NPD) projects.
• Designs electrical circuit schematics for test boards, prototypes, and new product designs.
• Independantly and creatively develops ideas and solutions to electrical and system design problems.
• Validates, tests, and debugs circuit boards.
• Develops printed circuit board (PCB) layout of complex multi-layer circuit board designs.
• Completes PCB Gerber file generation, ordering, and design file coordination with fabrication house.
• Completes surface mount component rework of printed circuit boards and component replacement as needed.
• Runs and documents electrical and system tests.
