Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in Hoffman Estates, IL is seeking an Electrical Engineering Co-op to develop low complexity PCBs and FPGA designs while gaining hands-on experience in test fixtures, firmware, and engineering tools.

You will document results, create defect reports, calibrate hardware, and participate in integration testing of new releases; candidates must be enrolled in a degree program and have a 3.0+ GPA and be eligible for university co-op.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering (rising senior preferred).
• Minimum 3.0 GPA (preferred).
• Registered and eligible to participate in a co-op through your university.
• Core electrical engineering concepts should be familiar.
• Good PC skills (MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• Willingness to learn new tools and skills related to circuit design, PCB development, FPGA programming and other design methods.

Responsibilities

• Development of low complexity printed circuit board assemblies, FPGA designs, and test fixtures.
• Development of test firmware/scripts for automated testing of assemblies.
• Development of engineering tools, databases, websites, and hardware infrastructure needed to support the engineering environment.
• Integration testing of new hardware/software releases with thorough documentation of test results and written report summary.
• Creation of defect reports and verification of fixes.
• Calibration and field return analysis.
