Job summary

Siemens Healthineers is seeking an Electrical Engineering Co-op to gain hands-on experience with PCB assemblies, FPGA designs, and test fixtures. The role involves developing testing scripts, building engineering tools, and documenting results as part of an integrated hardware/software development environment.

The candidate is currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering program, has a minimum 3.0 GPA, and is eligible for a university co-op.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering (rising senior preferred).
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (preferred).
  • Registered and eligible to participate in a co-op through your university.
  • Completion of courses in core electrical engineering concepts.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and skills related to circuit design, PCB development, FPGA programming and other design methods.
  • Good PC skills (MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Develop low complexity printed circuit board assemblies, FPGA designs, and test fixtures.
  • Develop test firmware/scripts for automated testing of assemblies.
  • Create engineering tools, databases, websites, and hardware infrastructure for the engineering environment.
  • Perform integration testing of new hardware/software releases with documentation of test results.
  • Create defect reports and verification of fixes.
  • Calibrate and perform field return analysis.

As an Electrical Engineering Co-op, you will be responsible for:

  • Development of low complexity printed circuit board assemblies, FPGA designs, and test fixtures.
  • Development of test firmware/scripts for automated testing of assemblies.
  • Development of engineering tools, databases, websites, and hardware infrastructure needed to support the engineering environment.
  • Integration testing of new hardware/software releases with thorough documentation of test results and written report summary.
  • Creation of defect reports and verification of fixes.
  • Calibration and field return analysis.
