Job summary

HWC Engineering in Indiana is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support our Water Resources team at the Indianapolis office. You will design power distribution, motor control, lighting, and instrumentation for water and wastewater facilities, and develop drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 3–5+ years of experience, with strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA and coordination with controls and automation.

Our team is looking for a qualified, ambitious, and enthusiastic Electrical Engineer to support our Water Resources team. We are hiring at our Indianapolis office.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Design power distribution, motor control, lighting, and instrumentation systems for water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities, including treatment plants, pump stations, and lift stations.
• Develop electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and circuiting for process and facility electrical systems.
• Work with SCADA and instrumentation systems, coordinating electrical infrastructure with controls and automation needs.
• Prepare bidding documents and construction specifications for municipal water and wastewater projects.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with the NEV and other applicable codes and utility standards.

WHAT YOU NEED

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; experience with water/wastewater or other heavy industrial facilities preferred.
• 3-5+ years of experience in electrical engineering and design, providing electrical and instrumentation designs for water, wastewater, and stormwater projects.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for electrical design.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, including lighting and power distribution systems.
• Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Life Safety Codes, and other related codes.
• Ability to think critically, manage time, and solve problems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
