Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer in Denver to contribute to multidisciplinary teams delivering water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, and conveyance systems. You will support power, controls, and instrumentation design from concept through construction.

The role involves developing electrical design documents, performing short-circuit and arc-flash studies, and coordinating with multiple disciplines to ensure reliable water infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience in power distribution.
• Experience or ability to obtain Colorado PE license within 12 months is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical design documents and specifications for power distribution, motor control, emergency power, and lighting systems.
• Perform short-circuit, protective device coordination, and arc-flash studies under supervision.
• Draft basis-of-design reports, calculations, and probable construction cost estimates.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, structural, process, instrumentation, and construction teams.
• Participate in quality reviews, submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and field activities including site assessments and commissioning support.
• Maintain project documentation and effective communication with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with local and national Electrical and Instrumentation & Controls experts.
