Job summary

Florence Copper in Florence, AZ, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to own the electrical and control systems for our SX/EW plant and wellfield. You will design, review, and maintain MCCs, transformers, switchgear, and motor protection, and help drive production goals with precise automation.

You’ll work with PLC/SCADA systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), optimize sequences, calibrate field instruments, and ensure NEC/IEEE safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of electrical engineering experience in mining or heavy industrial environments.
• Direct experience with SX/EW plant operations desirable.
• Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, and MSHA safety codes.

Responsibilities

• Design, review, and maintain electrical systems including MCCs, transformers, switchgear, and motor protection.
• Oversee operation and maintenance of SX/EW and wellfield equipment such as rectifiers, electrolytic cells, pump motors, and agitation systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, SCADA, and HMI interfaces.
• Develop and optimize automation sequences for SX, EW, and wellfield processes.
• Ensure calibration and functioning of field instruments.
