Job summary

WSP is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support due diligence, design, and construction activities for utility, industrial, and commercial projects in the public and private sectors in the Baltimore area.

The role involves assisting with data collection, substation design, and equipment sizing, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and senior engineers. A bachelor’s degree and 1–3 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required.
1–3 years of relevant post-education electrical engineering experience.
Familiarity with infrastructure planning and design management.
Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and permitting/processes.
Experience with design software (CAD, Aspen, CAPE, ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical).
Strong analytical, communication, and safety compliance skills.
Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

Assist with data collection and analysis for substation components and procurement packages.
Design work for single-line and three-line diagrams and substation layouts.
Provide technical assistance on equipment sizing, panel design, and cabling.
Support senior engineers with research and design recommendations.
Develop electrical calculations for loads, grounding, and power distribution.
Write concise technical reports and documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across project controls and permitting.
Participate in field/site work planning and permitting tasks.
Ensure adherence to safety policies and company standards.
