The Opportunity

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Function as a mid-level engineer or technical specialist in substation design.
• Develop electrical design deliverables, including protection and control design (protective relays) and/or physical design.
• Interface with clients, vendors and subcontractors.

This opportunity is located in Denver, CO. Hybrid work structure supports 3 days in office, and 2 days remote/flex.

Key Responsibilities

• Continues to learn and remains current on departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black and Veatch policies and procedures.
• Applies to assigned tasks as appropriate.
• Begins to independently apply knowledge and complies with Black and Veatch quality program relative to assigned tasks.
• Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts.
• Prepares a variety of moderately complex engineering deliverables.
• Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
• Collects, assimilates, and manages data for engineering work.
• Prepares complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
• Understands and adheres to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Recognizes, defines and resolves problems within assigned area.
• May provide direction and guidance to others.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a recognized accredited program.
• Minimum of 3 years related work experience.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected).

Preferred Qualifications

• HV Substation Design experience – Physical and/or Protection & Controls.
• Intermediate knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline.

Salary Plan

In accordance with local law, the following Annual compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $93,984.00 - $140,888.00
