Job Overview

Gannett Fleming is seeking experienced Substation Engineers (Electrical Engineers) to join our expanding Power Group. This is a fully remote position. You will work on cutting-edge projects in power transmission, distribution, and renewable energy, focusing on enhancing system reliability, sustainability, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop substation layout drawings, including plan and elevations, yard layouts, grounding, control building layouts, cable lists, and material lists.
• Develop electrical schematics such as one-line and three-line diagrams, SCADA, relay panels, and wiring diagrams.
• Prepare calculations, reports, and equipment specifications for substation projects.
• Support or lead utility and power substation projects from 34.5kV up to 500kV.
• Build and maintain client relationships and collaborate across disciplines to pursue new projects.
• Participate in proposals, bids, reports, and presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer License or on the path to licensure.
• 3+ years of experience in power and utility industry design, engineering, and project management.
• Experience with high voltage substation and distribution projects.
• Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project).

Preferred Skills

• Advanced Degree (preferred).
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Inventor.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $77,000 - $155,000, dependent on experience and location. Benefits include hybrid work, comprehensive health plans, 401(k), PTO, tuition reimbursement, professional development, and incentive compensation.
