Job summary

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) seeks an Electrical Engineer Sr to support IRST production hardware. You will perform hands-on testing, debugging, and programming of WRAs, CCAs, and related assemblies in a secure floor environment at the Orlando facility.

You will use Windchill and PLM tools, isolate production issues, and drive corrective actions with cross-functional teams. A BS in EE and 3+ years of hardware experience are required; DoD clearance is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or closely related STEM field; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience with electrical hardware or related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical/electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, breakout boxes, power supplies, logic/spectrum analyzers).
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting production hardware such as CCAs, harnesses, and WRAs.
  • Ability to interpret and read complex electrical schematics for CCAs.
  • U.S. Citizenship; ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Testing, debugging, and programming IRST production WRAs and related circuit-card assemblies.
  • Using Windchill to retrieve drawings, reference MPPS, and record each process step.
  • Isolating and resolving production issues independently and as part of weekend floor-support.
  • Collaborating with day-shift engineers, suppliers, and quality personnel on findings and corrective actions.
  • Updating work instructions, non-conformance reports, and configuration data for traceability.
  • Participating in root-cause analyses and recommending process improvements for yield and reliability.
  • Ensuring safety, security, and handling of classified information on the floor.

Electrical Engineer Sr (40003516) IRST Production Support

You will be the Electrical Engineer for the Hardware Engineering team at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC). Our team delivers precision engagement aerospace and defense systems, designing, building and fielding the electrical hardware that powers missiles, sensors and other mission critical subsystems for the United States and allied militaries.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Electrical Engineer you will perform hands‑on testing, troubleshooting, and programming of IRST production hardware while leveraging our PLM tools to document and control the process.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Testing, debugging, and programming IRST production WRAs (receiver, processor, IMU, pod) and related circuit‑card assemblies.
  • Using Windchill to retrieve drawings, reference manufacturing process plans (MPPs), and record each process step.
  • Isolating and resolving production issues independently and as part of the weekend floor‑support team to keep deliveries on schedule.
  • Collaborating with day‑shift engineers, suppliers, and quality personnel to hand off findings and corrective actions.
  • Updating work instructions, non‑conformance reports, and configuration data to maintain traceability.
  • Participating in root‑cause analyses and recommending process improvements that enhance yield and reliability.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, security, and classified‑information requirements while working on the floor.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field from an accredited university; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience with electrical hardware or a related discipline
  • Hands‑on experience with electrical/electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, breakout boxes, power supplies, logic/spectrum analyzers, and test stations
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting production hardware such as circuit card assemblies (CCAs), harnesses, and electronic WRAs
  • Ability to interpret and read complex electrical schematics for circuit card assemblies (CCA)
  • Must be a US Citizen; must be able to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Desired Skills
  • Proven background providing production line support, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Familiarity with Lockheed Martin processes
  • Experience with Windchill or Agile Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools
  • Experience with JIRA
  • Familiarity with Apriso
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Experience with MFC circuit card design processes and the Design Assurance process
  • Experience working failure investigation, root cause, and corrective action
  • Ability to creatively solve problems and carefully document testing steps and results
  • Ability to work either individually or as part of a team to solve production problemsDemonstrated effective communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
  • Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance
Pay Information

Full‑Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00
