Job summary

Xcimer Energy in Denver, CO, is seeking an Electrical Engineer — Signal Distribution & Controls to own end-to-end electrical system implementation for fusion hardware. You will design power distribution, fault protection, grounding, and control panels, delivering build-ready P&IDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and interfaces for cross-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
• Experience owning electrical system design for complex hardware.
• Strong background in power distribution, protection, grounding and safety.
• Experience designing control panels, cabinets and packaging.
• Experience creating and maintaining P&IDs and electrical diagrams.
• Familiarity with Rockwell, Siemens, Beckhoff.
• Ability to produce clear, build-ready electrical documentation.
• Familiarity with IPC/WHMA‑A‑620, UL 508A, NFPA 70/79, ANSI/ISA‑5.1 standards.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical architecture and implementation for assigned subsystems.
• Design signal distribution and protection schemes.
• Lead design of control panels, cabinets, and electrical packaging.
• Own cable and harness architecture and routing.
• Develop and maintain P&IDs and interface diagrams.
• Use P&IDs to communicate across Electrical, Controls, Mechanical, Safety, and Operations.
• Ensure consistency between P&IDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and I/O definitions.
• Produce build-ready electrical design packages.
• Support design reviews, hazard analyses, safety reviews, and commissioning.
• Lead electrical failure analysis and corrective actions.
• Design in IPC/WHMA‑A‑620, UL 508A, NFPA 70/79, ANSI/ISA‑5.1 standards.
