Job summary

Xcimer Energy is seeking a Control Systems Engineer - Test & Measurement in Denver, CO to design, implement, verify, and commission complex test and measurement systems for advanced hardware. The role emphasizes diagnostic thinking, hands-on test stands, and software proficiency to ensure reliability and fit-for-purpose solutions.

You will develop Python and LabVIEW software, integrate hardware with DAQ and instrumentation, and participate in V&V activities, test planning, and documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
• 1+ years of control systems engineering experience in test and measurement or validation environments.
• Experience designing and commissioning test stands, automated test equipment (ATE), or experimental systems.
• Proficiency in Python and LabVIEW with version-controlled code.
• Strong verification and validation methodologies and requirements tracking.
• Experience with Git and modern software workflows.
• Familiarity with RS-232, TCP/IP, and Ethernet-based protocols.
• U.S. citizenship or eligible status.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and commission control systems for test and measurement applications.
• Lead or contribute to verification and validation activities, including test planning and reporting.
• Develop control, automation, and data acquisition software using Python and LabVIEW.
• Integrate hardware and software for test systems, including instrumentation and DAQ hardware.
• Apply diagnostic and systems-level troubleshooting methodologies to identify root causes.
• Implement and maintain automated test frameworks, unit tests, and regression tests.
• Interface with communication protocols such as RS-232/422/485, TCP/IP, EtherCAT.
• Support requirements development, traceability, and documentation for V&V.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to emulate real-world conditions.
• Support commissioning activities, acceptance testing, and lifecycle support for test infrastructure.
