Job summary

Xcimer Energy is seeking a Control Systems Engineer – Test & Measurement for our Denver, CO headquarters. You will design, implement, verify, and commission complex test systems and software to validate advanced hardware and subsystems.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on test stand experience, strong diagnostic thinking, and proficiency in Python and LabVIEW. Collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and rigorous V&V will be central to the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 1+ years of experience in control systems engineering, with emphasis on test and measurement or validation environments.
• Experience designing and commissioning test stands, automated test equipment, or experimental systems.
• Proficiency in Python and LabVIEW, including maintainable, version-controlled code.
• Knowledge of verification and validation methodologies, test planning and requirements tracking such as with a RTM.
• Experience with Git and modern software workflows.
• Familiarity with RS-232, TCP/IP, Ethernet-based protocols.
• US citizenship or eligible for lawful work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and commission control systems for test and measurement applications.
• Lead verification and validation activities, including test planning and reporting.
• Develop control, automation, and data acquisition software using Python and LabVIEW.
• Integrate hardware and software for test systems with various instrumentation and DAQ.
• Apply diagnostic methods to identify root causes of issues.
• Implement automated test frameworks, unit tests, and regression tests.
• Interface with multiple communication protocols and instruments.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to reflect real-world conditions.
• Support commissioning, acceptance testing, and lifecycle support.
