Job summary

MSA Safety is seeking an Engineer to sustain and advance the Fixed Gas and Flame Detection product line. The role focuses on design, analysis, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies integrated in safety products, with cross-functional collaboration across software, mechanical, test, and manufacturing teams.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in circuit design for EMC-compliant, low-power electronics, plus experience with embedded systems and ABET-accredited EE education.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited college
• Experience with embedded systems design in safety-critical products
• Ability to communicate technical information to stakeholders
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams
• Willingness for travel up to ~10%

Responsibilities

• Sustain efforts in the Fixed Gas and Flame Detection product line.
• Design, analyze, test and troubleshoot electronic assemblies in safety products.
• Incorporate electronic designs with software, mechanical, test and manufacturing accordingly.
• Collaborate on cross-functional project teams for new MSA products.
• Coordinate with customers to determine design requirements.
• Perform design work including embedded systems and analog/digital circuitry.
• Plan and complete investigations on existing products, resolve obsolescence issues.
• Provide technical reports to support investigations and judgments.
• Develop and execute test plans to evaluate products.
• Participate in design reviews for new products.
