Job summary

Symbotic in Wilmington, MA is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design electrical hardware for automated material-handling robots. You will lead schematic design, PCB layouts, analysis, prototypes, and testing through the PDP process with collaboration across mechanical, firmware, test, and manufacturing teams.

You will work with Altium to design boards, harnesses, and interfaces, ensuring DFx across power, sensing, and compute paths; occasional travel to labs or contract manufacturers may be

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 2+ years of electrical design experience.
• Working knowledge of Altium schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Experience with electronics for automation, robotics, or automotive embedded systems.
• Contributes to board-level design and interfaces with larger electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical solutions for boards, harnesses, and interfaces (power, sensing, compute) using established methods.
• Take designs from schematic through prototype and release with documentation for review.
• Follow PDP/process to ensure designs move along the program path.
• Design schematics and PCB layouts in Altium; apply stackup, DfX, and EMI/EMC practices with senior review.
• Support PLM work (BOM updates, ECO inputs, document release) and contract-manufacturer builds.
• Assist with testing and EMC/EMI debugging with a more senior engineer.
• Travel occasionally to lab or contract manufacturers for bring-up support.
