Atwell, LLC is seeking a mid-level Electrical Engineer in the Oil & Gas group to support industrial and utility projects across North America, focusing on power system studies, distribution engineering, and substation design. You will develop models, conduct studies with ETAP/SKM/PSS/E, and prepare reports for clients with senior guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution; electric power option preferred
• FE/EIT preferred; progress toward PE licensure is strongly preferred
• 2–6 years of relevant electrical engineering experience in utility/industrial settings
• Experience performing power system studies using ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, PowerFactory, Milsoft, or similar software
• Exposure to PSS/E or similar transmission planning tools is a plus
• Knowledge of MV/LV power systems and utility coordination
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical engineering and design activities for industrial, utility, and oil & gas facilities, including MV and LV distribution
• Develop and maintain power system models and validate study results
• Prepare clear technical reports and client recommendations
• Coordinate with clients, utilities, vendors, and project teams
• Support substation, relay, and protection-related engineering activities
• Create one-line and three-line diagrams, control schematics, wiring diagrams
• Provide field assistance, troubleshooting, and commissioning support
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, and utility standards
• Travel up to 25% for field work and meetings
• Assist with project deliverables from 30% to issued-for-construction
• Check work of designers and drafters for quality and accuracy
• Communicate findings in written and verbal form
• Work in a full-time remote environment
