Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc in Roanoke, VA seeks an Electrical Engineer to supervise and engineer power distribution, maintenance and operations. You will manage capital projects and support operating and maintenance departments.

The role emphasizes safety, cross‑functional collaboration, and hands-on problem solving, with responsibilities spanning from wiring upgrades to plant modernization. A BSEE/BSEET and steel industry experience are preferred.

Qualifications

BSEE or BSEET degree required.
Basic knowledge of power distribution, including switchgear and transformers, AC/DC motors and drives.
Strong focus on safety.
Ability to work with other departments.
Self-starter with proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

Engineer and coordinate capital and non-capital project work including changes to power distribution and related technology upgrades.
Coordinate projects and daily work with electrical contractors.
Assist production departments with projects, process improvements and troubleshooting.
