Job summary

Gemma Power Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support multi-million-dollar power generation facilities and other industrial projects. You will assist in electrical power and control engineering for Procurement, Project Development, Construction, and Commissioning teams, ensuring on-time, on-budget deliverables while maintaining safety and standards.

Travel up to 15% may be required to support site work.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience with solar or renewable projects is beneficial.
• PMP or Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
• Strong experience in preparing project schedules, technical reviews of specs and designs, and risk analysis.
• Proficient in control system platforms including Rockwell, Siemens, and Schneider.
• Working knowledge of grounding requirements (high resistance, building, isolated grounding).
• Familiarity with NEC, ANSI, NEMA, NFPA, IEEE, and OSHA codes and standards.
• Understanding of generation and power factor correction.
• Experience with eTAP or SKM for short-circuit, coordination, and fault studies.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or Smart Plant Electrical.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support in the development of preliminary designs and technical proposals.
• Evaluate base designs and specifications, providing technical support through all phases of process improvement per Owner requirements.
• Coordinate project schedules and engineering teams to execute work at site in a timely manner.
• Drive technical due diligence from project development, implementations, and commissioning phases.
• Review engineered specifications and drawings.
• Ensure installation and operations comply with Gemma standards and customer requirements.
