Job summary

Gemma Power Systems, LLC is seeking an Electrical Field Engineer Intern to support the Electrical team on project sites. The intern will read and interpret drawings, assist with project scheduling, and help field superintendents with various tasks to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates are pursuing Electrical, Industrial, or Power Engineering, with strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and a proactive work ethic.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft skills.
  • Demonstrated ethics and integrity in engineering contexts.
  • Teamwork and organizational skills essential for field work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide layouts or plans based on approved schematics or drawings.
  • Evaluate base designs to support engineering inquiries through process improvement.
  • Order materials and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Create daily reports outlining project progress.
  • Understand and track electrical installation progress via QPR and associated reports.
  • Complete Time Allocation Tool (TAT) to match QPR.
  • Prepare turnover packages.
  • Maintain and update cable schedules.
  • Upload and print electrical drawings for field supervisors.
  • Spot check field quantities and project progress.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Document Control to maintain current drawings.
  • Understand and track Scope of Work (SOW).

Overview:

As an Electrical Field Engineer Intern, you will engage in various work assignments, projects, and activities of varying complexity while applying standard engineering techniques & procedures. The ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or another Engineering or Construction-related field and will be strongly considering a career in power generation or large-scale/industrial construction following graduation.

Position Summary:

Join Gemma’s growing construction team! The Electrical Field Engineer Intern is primarily responsible for supporting the Electrical team at their assigned project site. We are looking for someone who is able to read & understand drawings, understand project scheduling, and support Superintendents when needed. Candidates should possess a commitment to top quality and an unwavering work ethic, be able to identify conflicts & provide solutions, and have a vast attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide support with creation of layouts or plans based on approved schematics or drawings.
  • Evaluate base designs and specifications to support engineering inquiries through all phases of process improvement.
  • Order material as needed and maintain a positive relationship with suppliers & vendors.
  • Create daily report to outline project progress.
  • Understand the Quantity Progress Report (QPR) as it relates to electrical installation tracking.
  • Complete Time Allocation Tool (TAT) to match QPR.
  • Complete turnover packages.
  • Track cablematics and update cable schedule.
  • Upload & print electrical drawings for field supervisors.
  • Spot check field quantities and job progress.
  • Communicate with Engineering and Document Control to maintain current drawings.
  • Understand and track Scope of Work (SOW).

Desired Qualifications/Experience:
