Electrical Engineer – Power Distribution (Remote or Hybrid)

Join a collaborative engineering team working on impactful federal, industrial, and commercial projects across the U.S. We’re seeking an experienced electrical engineer with strong fundamentals, a proactive mindset, and balance of plant (BoP) design experience from a consulting firm. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys leading technical execution while mentoring others and expanding their skillset.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and support the design and development of electrical systems, including LV and MV power distribution, lighting, protective relaying, substations, motor control centers, and backup generation systems.
• Produce construction drawings, specifications, studies, and reports across a range of project types.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate across disciplines to deliver high-quality, on-time results.
• Conduct and review electrical calculations, BOMs, cost estimates, and power system studies using tools like ETAP, EasyPower, or SKM/PTW.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, UFC, IEEE, and energy codes.
• Interface directly with clients and project stakeholders, supporting design from concept to construction.
• Mentor junior and mid-level team members.
• Support proposal development and business development initiatives as needed.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 5+ years of experience in BoP distribution design, preferably within an engineering consulting environment.
• Hands-on experience with low and medium voltage system design and a working knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
• Ability to self-perform and lead all phases of electrical design—from proposal to construction support.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; proven success managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Passion for learning, mentoring, and delivering high-quality engineering work.

Preferred:

• Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain in multiple states.
• Specification writing experience.
• Experience estimating construction costs and preparing proposals.
• Prior work on federal or industrial projects a plus.
