Steel Dynamics, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to supervise, engineer, maintain and operate all incoming plant power distribution and related services. The role also leads capital projects and provides engineering support to operations and maintenance teams at our Roanoke facility.

The ideal candidate holds a BSEE or BSEET and has strong knowledge of power distribution, switchgear, transformers, and motor drives, with a safety-first mindset. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• BSEE or BSEET degree required.
• Knowledge of power distribution, switchgear, transformers, AC/DC motors and drives.
• Strong safety focus.
• Able to collaborate with other departments.
• Self-starter with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and coordinate capital and non-capital project work, including changes to power distribution, lighting, cable installations and related technology to electrical systems.
• Coordinate projects and daily work using electrical contractors.
• Assist production departments with projects, process improvement and troubleshooting.
