Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Engineer to support site operations and drive process improvements while ensuring safe, reliable production. The role will be resident at the site and integrated with the Acid Technology Center to support SES sites.

The Engineer will lead safety, process, mechanical, and product quality improvements, implementing systems to reduce cost and increase uptime, with coordination across internal and external teams and potential travel to project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience with industrial or commercial power generation systems.
• Experience with diesel and/or natural gas generators, switchgear, automatic transfer switches, and generator controls.
• Experience with SCADA systems, industrial networking, and remote monitoring applications.
• Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, OPC, or Ethernet/IP.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, PLC logic, and technical specifications.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel to customer or project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strengths in delivering results, commitments, and continuous improvement.
• Lead documentation of process, mechanical, and/or capital improvements.
• Collaborate with diverse teams to influence operators, mechanics, and leadership for better business outcomes.
• Monitor data using statistics and provide technical recommendations for improvement.
• Provide technical support for improvement projects, operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Lead and implement projects such as reliability and efficiency initiatives.
• Work in manufacturing environments including outdoor/indoor settings and confined spaces.
• Serve as Site Process Safety Management resource.
