Job summary

Hut8 is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer to own end-to-end electrical design for data centers and mission-critical facilities. You will serve as Engineer of Record for protection coordination and power-system studies, while coordinating with utilities, vendors, and construction teams through energization.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of experience, deep NEC/IEEE knowledge, and proficiency with SKM/ETAP/EasyPower, including N+1 and 2N redundancy.

Qualifications

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 7+ years designing electrical systems for data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Deep knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards.
• Fluency with SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower and redundancy topologies (N+1, 2N).
• Experience coordinating with utilities, vendors, construction teams, and energization.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems end-to-end: interconnects, substations, switchgear, generators, UPS, and power distribution.
• Serve as Engineer of Record for protection coordination, short-circuit, arc-flash, and related studies.
• Maintain close work with construction, resolve field issues in real time, and oversee energization.
• Push on cost, constructability, redundancy, while maintaining safety and reliability.

• Design it: Own electrical systems end-to-end: utility interconnects, substations, switchgear, generators, UPS, and power distribution.
• Stamp it: Serve as Engineer of Record for one-lines, protection coordination, short-circuit, arc-flash, and related power-system studies.
• Build it: Stay close to construction, solve field issues in real time, and own the work through commissioning and energization.
• Challenge it: Push on cost, constructability, redundancy, and third-party designs without compromising safety or reliability.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 7+ years designing electrical systems for data centers, industrial, or other mission-critical facilities.
• Deep knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, and critical power systems.
• Fluency with SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower and redundancy topologies including N+1 and 2N.
• Experience working directly with utilities, equipment vendors, construction teams, and commissioning through energization.
