Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our New York City team, leading electrical design and project efforts for diverse clients, including schools, healthcare, and commercial facilities. This role offers mentorship opportunities and a chance to shape essential building systems.

You’ll design power, lighting, fire alarm, and related systems, work in a collaborative, hybrid environment, and participate in a comprehensive benefits package with a signing bonus up to $10,000.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• New York State Professional Engineer license.
• Minimum of 5 years of electrical design experience.
• Experience with K-12, higher education, healthcare, institutional, and/or commercial projects in the New York market.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft.
• Familiarity with NEC codes and design guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems including lighting, power, and life safety for renovations, new facilities, and modernization projects.
• Apply load sizing and service requirements for beneficial electrification projects.
• Lead electrical projects and perform QA/QC on design work.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers in technical skills and project experience.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other disciplines to deliver coordinated client-focused designs.
